The Collaborative, a community design center, pursues a long-term vision of amplifying resilient neighborhoods to achieve equity by design. We partner with communities to envision the environments where they live, work, play, and thrive.
To do that, we use a community-engaged process and match volunteer design professionals to provide pro bono preliminary design services to organizations and communities.
These services enable organizations and communities to drive the improvements that their neighborhoods need most, raise and leverage funding, and take projects through implementation. In this way, they lay the groundwork for more equitable development.
The Collaborative delivers preliminary design services in three ways – core grants, initiatives, and technical assistance.
